Major highlights include: These include the Arc de Triumph (Hadrian’s Arch), the Hippodrome, the Oval Square, the Colonnaded Street, the Temple of Aphrodite, the Temples of Artemis and Zeus, the Roman Theater, and the Nymphaeum. FAQs

Do I need a visa to visit Jordan?
Yes, most nationalities (including Indian, American, European, and Southeast Asian) require a visa. You can get a Visa on Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman or land borders. To save money, consider the Jordan Pass (includes visa + entry to 40+ attractions including Petra). Some nationalities may require prior approval—check the Jordanian embassy website for updates.
What is the Jordan Pass and should I buy it?
Yes, it's highly recommended. Covers visa fees (if staying more than 3 nights). Grants access to Petra, Jerash, Wadi Rum, and many other sites. Available online at: https://www.jordanpass.jo ; Saves both time and money.
What is the best time to visit Jordan?
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) offer pleasant weather. Summer (June to August) is hot, especially in Petra and Wadi Rum. Winter (December to February) can be cold, especially in Amman and Petra; Aqaba remains warm.
What are the must-visit places in Jordan?
Petra – Ancient Nabatean city carved into rock; Wadi Rum – Desert wilderness with sand dunes and rock formations; Dead Sea – Float in salty waters and enjoy mud spas; Amman – The capital, filled with Roman ruins and modern culture; Jerash – Roman archaeological city; Aqaba – Red Sea coastal city, great for diving; Mount Nebo & Madaba – Religious and historical sites.
How do I get around Jordan?
Private taxi or car rental is the best and most flexible option. Jett Bus offers reliable intercity bus services. Local buses are cheap but infrequent and crowded. Uber/Careem available only in Amman.

Mansaf – Jordan’s national dish made of lamb, yogurt, and rice; Falafel & Hummus – Street food staples; Maqluba – Upside-down rice and meat dish; Knafeh – Sweet cheese dessert; Zarb – Bedouin BBQ in the desert (especially in Wadi Rum).
What should I wear in Jordan?
Jordan is modest but not overly strict. For women: modest clothes (covering shoulders and knees) are respectful. No need for a headscarf unless entering a mosque. For men: shorts are okay in tourist areas, but trousers preferred elsewhere. Comfortable shoes are a must, especially in Petra.
Can I swim in the Dead Sea?
Yes, but don’t dive or put your face in the water—it’s very salty and can irritate. Most hotels have access to Dead Sea beaches with showers and mud treatment. Wear water shoes to avoid sharp salt crystals.
What is the electricity plug type?
Type C, D, F, G, and J plugs are used. Voltage: 230V | Frequency: 50Hz. A universal adapter is recommended.
